Our Narrandera app for iPhone and iPad

Come and explore the poetry of Narrandera, a small regional town in New South Wales, Australia. Our Narrandera celebrates six “unofficial monuments”; Narrandera Park, Brewery Flats, Lake Talbot Lookout, Narrandera Cemetery, Rocky Waterholes and Town Beach.

Our Narrandera is a digital artwork. The medium of the app allows us to embed information in the landscape without needing maintenance, planning permission or huge budgets to do so.

The Cad Factory artists Vic and Sarah McEwan collaborated with forty students from Narrandera High and their teacher Ms Jacqui Ryding on the creation of this iPad app. The students worked across a range of mediums including painting, drawing, story telling, poetry, video, music, photography and site specific processes. You are seeing Narrandera through their eyes.

The school based projects that we do at The Cad Factory aim to provide young people with skills, processes, ways of thinking and problem solving that are all involved in being a contemporary artist.
